Elks roast will raise cash for health center

SANTA CLARITA – Tom Veloz has been selected as the roastee at the annual Elks Lodge Roast, which benefits the Samuel Dixon Family Health Center. “I am delighted to be the next roastee with the knowledge all profits go to the Samuel Dixon Family Health Center, which provides health services for those in need in our community,” said Veloz, a longtime supporter of the clinic. The roast will be held at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at Elks Lodge No. 2379, 17766 Sierra Highway, Canyon Country. Tickets are $150. Veloz will be roasted by Dixon board member C.R. “Bob” Hudson; Valencia Acura owner Don Fleming; Santa Clarita City Manager Ken Pulskamp; and Gruber Systems President John Hoskinson. In addition to the roast, there will be auction items to bid on at the event including an autographed guitar donated by Sting; lunch with county Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich; lunch or dinner and a tour of the Pitchess Detention Center jail complex with Cmdr. Donald Rodriquez; and dinner with Santa Clarita sheriff’s Capt. Patti Minutello.
