first_imgPeace region residents participated in the first HST Tele-Town Hall Wednesday night.Transportation Minister and MLA for Peace River South Blair Lekstrom, hosted the Tele-Town Hall with several questions from Peace region residents. Listed phone numbers across the Peace were called and residents had the opportunity to listen to the Tele-Town Hall and ask questions of the Minster.The questions raised ranged from how the tax would affect Northern residents as compared to Southern B.C. residents to how this region is affected by cross border shopping.- Advertisement -Most of the participants stated they understood the benefits to businesses in B.C., but wanted to know how the Province and the HST would help individual people. Man held for molesting U.S. tourist

first_imgThe Goa police on Tuesday arrested a motor-cycle taxi owner in connection with a complaint of molestation filed by a U.S. tourist.The woman had said on Facebook that she was molested during a bike ride in Goa on the eve of Republic Day. Inspector C.L. Patil, in charge of the Anjuna police station, told presspersons on Tuesday that Isidore Ferandes, 44, a resident of Anjuna in north coastal Goa, was arrested and handed over to the neighbouring Pernem police station as the crime area comes under its jurisdiction.
